Special Deck Strategy
Patient Stealth Devil Deck
While a bit tricky to use, this deck emphasizes the use of patient strategy to build up your forces and then make a decisive attack. You’ll rely on various creature and magic effects as well as the Demonic Smile Magia Skill.
You’ll want one Cyclops creature card in your initial hand, and Nyx, Goddess of the Night’s ability is useful in the later stages of the match. In the beginning of the fight, use Cyclops and Ox Demon King along with the Wake Up Magia Skill. Wake Up can be used on both ally and enemy creatures, so it can both help you bring out your own creatures or summon enemy ones for elimination. Try to get in the habit of predicting which creatures your opponent may have set, as correctly selecting and defeating them with Wake Up will help you in battle.
If you have two creatures summoned, Veil of Darkness is a handy Magia Skill. Creatures with Stealth maintain that status until the act or are damaged, and they gain some protection against targeted effects. They remain vulnerable to effects that damage all or random enemies, however.
If your opponent manages to summon multiple creatures, try to wipe them out with Gaia’s Wrath or Deucalion’s Deluge while protecting your own allies with Veil of Darkness. Elena has a high Defense stat and isn’t easily defeated. It’s often a better choice to save MP rather than risk overextending yourself.
Once you have three creatures in play, use Demonic Smile to enhance them. Nyx, Goddess of the Night and the Asclepius’s Miracle magic card can help you resurrect creatures and activate Demonic Smile. When combined with Echidna, Mother of Monsters, Demonic Smile can be even more devastating. Also note that the effect of Demonic Smile lasts for subsequent turns as well, so if your opponent is starved for MP and struggling it is sometimes wise to resist the urge to attack. This avoids granting them MP recovery via damage and making it difficult for them to counterattack.
Elena has strong defenses but a low Life stat, leaving her vulnerable to fixed damage and massed, decisive attacks. Watch your opponent carefully, taking out dangerous enemy creatures as soon as possible and doing your best to prevent them from summoning multiple creatures.
Tips for dealing with other decks:
・Vs. Myr
Elena has limited Life, meaning a skillful Myr player may defeat her while you’re still preparing for battle. Try to protect Elena with Taunt creatures like Rowdy Red Samurai Goblin and Machine Queen Hera. Also use the Wake Up Magia Skill to try to seize the initiative from your opponent.
・Vs. Zeta
Even with Elena’s strong defenses, Zeta’s Draconic Pact combo can be devastating. Try to prevent Zeta from keeping multiple creatures on the field using Wake Up and Veil of Darkness. You’ll also want to avoid carelessly granting your opponent MP by attacking their Gifted directly. Take your time.
・Vs. Leo
If Leo manages to summon multiple Undead creatures, your set creatures will become vulnerable to the Assassinate Magia Skill. Make wiping out enemy Undead a priority. If you need to eliminate an enemy creature right away, use Wake Up to summon one of your own. Cyclops and Ox Demon King are also invulnerable to Assassinate. If you find yourself troubled by an enemy Karkinos the Demonic Crab’s Stealth, try using the Deucalion’s Deluge or Gaia’s Wrath magic cards.
