Special Deck Strategy
Simple, Speedy Spade Deck
This aggressive deck is based around the Hand Blade Magia Skill and Spade creatures. It’s simple and easy to use while you’re still learning the ropes in CHRONO MA:GIA.
When drawing your initial hand, try to balance low-Cost creatures and Cost 6+ heavy hitters. Try to summon Zhu Bajie or Shi Huan the Black Wind and use them and Hand Blade to deal damage. Note that if you use a creature with Rush while your opponent has cards set on the board you are likely to lose your own creature to a counterattack.
If your opponent manages to summon multiple creatures, try to regain control of the board with Kirin of the Sacred Gleam, Sakuya’s damage effect; Rush creatures like Death Vulture and Atalanta, Tempestuous Warrior; and the Hand Blade Magia Skill.
Kirin of the Sacred Gleam, Sakuya is also a useful creature for dealing massive damage to the opposing Gifted in a single turn. Try to summon it and two creatures with different types simultaneously when your opponent has no creatures on their field. If both these conditions are fulfilled, between her summon ability and attack skill, Sakuya alone can deal 4 standard damage + 6 fixed damage.
Deus Armor Xiphos is also key to dealing damage. Sometimes try to save Magia Points and summon Deus Armor Xiphos simultaneously with two other creatures.
Myr’s weakness is her low Life stat, so try to avoid giving your opponent chances to counterattack. Damage recovers your opponent’s MP, so if you’re unable to deal a significant amount during a turn it is sometimes better to wait and stock up on MP. The maximum MP that can be stored is 15, however, so if it looks like you’re going to hit this limit feel free to attack.
Tips for dealing with other decks:
･Vs. Zeta
If Zeta manages to fill his board with creatures, you can expect to be the victim of powerful Magia Skills. Don’t focus too much on attacking your opponent directly, be sure to deal with creatures as well.
･Vs. Elena
Elena’s Wake Up Magia Skill can force-summon your creatures and leave them vulnerable to attack, so it’s important to either summon two creatures at once or use Rush creatures to defeat her as quickly as possible. You can use Kirin of the Sacred Gleam, Sakuya and Chimera to deal with creatures protected by the Veil of Darkness Magia Skill’s Stealth effect.
･Vs. Leo
If Leo manages to summon multiple Undead creatures, your set creatures will become vulnerable to the Assassinate Magia Skill. Note that Charon, Stygian Ferryman is immune to Assassinate, however. If you find yourself troubled by an enemy Karkinos the Demonic Crab’s Stealth, try using Kirin of the Sacred Gleam, Sakuya or the Deucalion’s Deluge magic card.
