CHRONO MA:GIA (クロノマギア)

Build decks!

CHRONO MA:GIA deck-building involves a strategic combination of three elements: a Gifted, their Magia Skills, and cards. This guide introduces some beginner-friendly decks and deck construction hints!

Beginner Decks

These beginner-oriented decks are both easy to use and include readily available cards!

Myr

Deck Name

  Torvio Myr

Magia Skills

Card List

Mulligan (if you don’t start with these cards, consider exchanging your hand)

  • ・Genbu and one other Spade creature
  • ・Forced Summon Magic (The Golden Apple, Tatami Flip)
  • ・Chimera or Boreas’s Chill if you’re worried your opponent has Stealth creatures
  • ・Deucalion’s Deluge if you’re facing Provoke Zeta or Elena

Deck Commentary

  • ・Princess Valkyrie possesses the Diamond and Club types when evolved, making her the key card for this deck. Your goal is to evolve Valkyrie and finish off your opponent with Eternal Dragon Roar-Torvio.
  • ・Concentrate on wiping out enemy creatures during the early and middle stage of the battle, using Spade creatures and the Hand Blade Magia Skill. Use forced summon magic as necessary.
  • ・Try to summon creatures after your opponent; successfully getting Genbu on the field with his Shield skill will help your creatures survive longer and keep Hand Blade available for use.
  • ・Enma can be used to return cards from your graveyard, so it’s OK to actively use your forced summon cards, even from the beginning of the match.
  • ・When only your creatures remain on the field, it’s a good time to set Princess Valkyrie. Use her in coordination with Eternal Dragon Roar-Torvio to unleash massive damage!
  • ・If your opponent gains control of the board, try to turn the time against them with Deucalion’s Deluge.

Advantages

  • ・Powerful Spade creatures, the Hand Blade Magia Skill, and forced summons help you control the board.
  • ・Burst firepower from the Eternal Dragon Roar-Torvio Magia Skill.

Disadvantages

  • ・With Myr’s low Life stat, this deck is weak against speedy, aggressive decks.
  • ・While cards are included to handle it, this deck is weak against Stealth.
  • ・With Eternal Dragon Roar-Torvio activated, it can be easy for your opponent to predict when you’re trying to set Princess Valkyrie, leaving her vulnerable to Tatami Flip. Use other Cost 4 cards to tempt your opponent into using up their forced summon magic cards before bringing out Princess Valkyie.

Additional Recommended Cards

  • ・Replace Daidarabotchi with a second Enma
  • ・Replace Water Mech Warrior, Midgard with Peerless Samurai Tadakatsu (who can protect Myr with Taunt and Magic Taunt)
  • ・Replace Death Vulture with Atalanta, Tempestuous Warrior
  • ・Replace Deucalion’s Deluge with Yamata no Orochi

Using a second Enma to return an already slain Enma to your deck will allow you to “recycle” even more cards.

Yamata no Orochi can help you regain control of the board, but the Shield granting capability of Genbu (Cost 6) and Arbiter of Judgement, Metatron (Cost 7) can drastically reduce Orochi’s effectiveness. Keep a close eye on what creatures your opponent is setting.

Myr

Deck Name

  Miracle Myr

Magia Skills

Card List

Mulligan

  • ・Creatures with Taunt (Youping the Unbreakable, Sphinx, Titan)
  • ・Forced Summon Magic (The Golden Apple, Tatami Flip)
  • ・Circe the Masked Witch or The Witch’s Curse if you’re worried your opponent has Ancient Emperor Yamato Takeru, Demon King Nobunaga, or Qilin
  • ・Ghost Armor or Circe the Masked Witch if you’re worried your opponent has Stealth creatures

Deck Commentary

  • ・This deck is based on creature enhancement, so use Time Miracle to improve your allies every turn possible.
  • ・Summon a creature with Taunt before attempting to play other creatures. You’ll want to prioritize improving creatures with Taunt using Time Miracle first.
  • ・By keeping creatures with Taunt on your field at all times, you’ll be able to protect both your other creatures and Life-deficient Myr as well as interfere with enemy creature’s Evolve skills.
  • ・Concentrate on wiping out enemy creatures during the early and middle stage of the battle. Avoid attacking the opposing Gifted unless you have an opportunity to evolve Titan or if they are close to the MP maximum.
  • ・Used forced summons to eliminate high-Cost, dangerous-looking enemy creatures and interfere with the opposing Gifted’s Magia Skill activation. (Beware of summon skills!)
  • ・When your opponent is running out of steam and your field is filled with creatures, use Howl of the Volcano Dragon to raise your allies’ Attack and deal massive damage to the opposing Gifted! You can hit even harder if Crimson Orchid Virtue is in the center slot!

Advantages

  • ・Stable play, with a low chance of starting with a bad hand.
  • ・Playing with this deck is simple, assuming you can predict which enemy creatures to use forced summons upon.

Disadvantages

  • ・You need to use Time Miracle every turn, so it’s easy to run low on MP. If you’re the starting play, consider skipping your first turn. Also try to take advantage of the fact that each creature that doesn’t act during a turn restores 1 MP. (Ghost Armor also helps provide MP.)
  • ・While cards are included to handle it, this deck is weak against Stealth.
  • ・This deck is somewhat lacking in firepower, so if you lose control of the board it’s difficult to make a comeback. Make the most of Deucalion’s Deluge.

Additional Recommended Cards

  • ・Replace Circe the Masked Witch with Menace (for dealing with high Cost creatures)
  • ・Replace Samurai Ogre with Satan Void (for taking back control of the field)
  • ・Replace Samurai Ogre with Gaia’s Wrath (for dealing with low Cost Stealth enemies)
  • ・Replace Dragon of the Chalice with Leilan (low Cost, high Attack, with MP recovery)

If you need more cards, try using low Cost, High Attack cards like Wisp, Wyvern, and Wyrm.

Zeta

Deck Name

  Provoke Zeta

Magia Skills

Card List

Mulligan

  • ・Dragon of the Sword or Daidarabotchi
  • ・Death Vulture or Atalanta, Tempestuous Warrior

Deck Commentary

  • ・This aggressive deck uses creatures and the Reckless Strike Magia Skill to deal direct damage to the opposing Gifted.
  • ・Combine creatures with Rush and the Provoke Magia Skill to defeat enemy creatures.
  • ・Finish your opponent off with magic cards and Deus Armor Xiphos!
  • ・The Golden Apple may also be used to force summon enemy creatures, but it’s also useful in bringing your Deus Armor Xiphos into play right away.

Additional Recommended Cards

L Deus Armor Xiphos (add a second card)
SR Gorgeous Thief Goemon

Elena

Deck Name

  Taunt Elena

Magia Skills

Card List

Mulligan

  • ・Cyclops
  • ・Circe the Masked Witch or Gigas
  • ・(Versus opponents who use Stealth) Gaia’s Wrath

Deck Commentary

  • ・This defensive deck works best when you use the Wall of Light Magia Skill to improve your Cyclops and Ara-Mitama creatures over the course of the battle.
  • ・In the early portion of the match, make the most of the Wake Up Magia Skill to defeat enemy creatures.
  • ・When your opponent runs out of options, finish them off with the Condemn Magia Skill and Echidna, Mother of Monsters.
  • ・Elena’s weakness is her Life score, so in the later stages of the match try to heal using Suzaku and Nymph’s Blessing.

Additional Recommended Cards

SR Ibaraki Doji
SR Hakuryu
SR Enma

Raizer

Deck Name

  Rush Raizer

Magia Skills

Card List

Mulligan

  • ・Serpentine Dragon
  • ・Sentient Sword
  • ・Sorcerer

Deck Commentary

  • ・Every turn possible, summon a Club type creature, attack the opposing Gifted with it, then follow up with the Stab Magia Skill. Play fast and aggressively, trying to defeat your opponent before they can find their footing.
  • ・Try to bring out low Cost creatures and use Level Up Summons to make more powerful ones. A Level MAX Dwarf is difficult to eliminate.
  • ・When your opponent is low on life, try to finish them off with magic cards.
  • ・If your opponent summons tricky creatures like Peerless Samurai Tadakatsu or Demon King Nobunaga, use Sorcerer to return them to their hand.

Additional Recommended Cards

L Peerless Samurai Tadakatsu
